I have an old pair of cowboy boots. They have ridden long in stirrups, rested heavily on gas pedals across entire continents, and crunched over countless other miles when I had neither horse nor car to my name. They are the relics of a life lived on two feet.

One response to “Cowboy Tango”

  1. Never really thought of you as a cowboy; but if the shoe fits …

We had a long-time milonguero here in Cowtown who only ever wore cowboy boots. I often thought it would suit this community to offer a “tango 2-step” class or some other kind of milonga class to dance to country music. Unfortunately, the dancers here are not that “progressive.” But … remember how/where the dance originated: bare feet and cowboy/gaucho boots.

    Love your poetry as always!
